Gehlot camp MLAs demand action against Congress rebels belonging to Pilot group

Congress MLAs belonging to the Ashok Gehlot camp have demanded action against the Sachin Pilot camp. The demand for action against dissident MLAs led by Rajasthan’s former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot was put forth during the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at Suryagarh hotel in Jaisalmer on Sunday.

Avinash Pande, Congress’ in-charge for Rajasthan, while communicating with the MLAs at the hotel, told them that the party will not be soft towards the rebel MLAs.

Shanti Dhariwal, Congress’ Parliamentary affairs minister in Rajasthan, lashed out at rebel MLAs belonging to the Sachin Pilot group.

19 MLAs, including Sachin Pilot, turned into dissidents and have been out of Rajasthan for almost a month. The rebel MLAs plunged the Rajasthan government led by Ashok Gehlot into political crisis.

Earlier, it was believed that Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot had become softer on the Pilot group, claiming that he is willing to accept the party high command’s decision if the rebels approach the party leadership.

However, the latest development coming days before the convening of Rajasthan assembly session, conveys hardening of stance by the Ashok Gehlot-led faction towards the rebel MLAs.

“Victory will be ours, final victory will be ours, victory will be of the government, government will complete full five years, will immerse itself towards service. People expect, hope which I will complete,” Ashok Gehlot said while speaking with media on Sunday.

Meanwhile, BJP and RLP MLAs will meet for an important meeting on August 11 before the Rajasthan Assembly session begins. The meeting will be held before the crucial upcoming Assembly session scheduled to begin on August 14. It will take place on a day when hearing in the case regarding six MLAs who left the BSP to join the Congress will take place in Rajasthan High Court.

“The meeting of BJP and RLP MLAs will be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jaipur on August 11 at 4 pm,” BJP state president Dr Satish Poonia told India Today.

Apart from MLAs of the BJP, Hanuman Beniwal and MLAs of the RLP will also take part in the meeting.

The meeting will be held to discuss the political situation in Rajasthan in the run up to the Assembly session.

BJP and RLP MLAs will stay in Crowne Plaza hotel in Jaipur from August 11 till August 14.

The crisis, precipitated by the Gehlot-Pilot tussle, had resulted in hectic activity within the BJP camp as well. However, Raje’s absence during deliberations held by senior BJP leaders in Jaipur in the last month, had led to rumour mills buzzing.

In a breakthrough signalling possible end to the political stalemate in Rajasthan, Governor Kalraj Mishra had agreed to the convening of the Assembly session in the state from August 14.
