- Rabada returned with excellent figures of 4/24 in four overs vs RCB
Delhi Capitals star pacer Kagiso Rabada credited R Ashwin, Axar Patel for setting the game for DC in the powerplay, saying this win over Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore will add to the confidence of his team.
Rabada returned with excellent figures of 4/24 in four overs and powered Delhi Capitals to the top of the points table following a comprehensive 59-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rabada’s haul included the wicket of Kohli (43), who was the lone man fighting after RCB.
“I think it was a really good win tonight. After that win at Sharjah, it gave us a lot of confidence against a team like RCB who have some really good batsmen. It also gives us massive confidence having won today,” Kagiso Rabada told in the post-match presser on Monday.
“I don’t really plan to get wickets, you can only control in which areas to bowl. It was swinging a bit, so it would have been nice to bowl the second over.
“I don’t think it was a bad call to take me off after the first over. At the end of the day, it worked out. I think if you want to be the best you have to adjust to the conditions.
“I think the spinners did a really good job today, they set up the game for us in the powerplay. Axar and Ashwin actually won us the game. All in all, it was a good performance and we are happy as a team,” Rabada added.
Marcus Stoinis top-scored for DC with 53 off 26 balls while Prithvi Shaw (42), Rishabh Pant (37) and Shikhar Dhawan (32) also made substantial contributions at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Chasing a formidable target of 197, RCB were restricted to 137 for nine. With 43 off 39 balls, RCB skipper Virat Kohli was the highest scorer for his side even as the others failed to impress.
