Actor Parvin Dabas is back home and recuperating after suffering a major car accident earlier this month. In his latest interview, he spoke about what exactly happened and how his children thought he had died after the accident.
Parvin, who was in the ICU after the accident in Bandra on September 21, told the Bombay Times that he was blinded by the sharp beam of light on the road and rammed his car into a divider. The actor said his wife, actor Preeti Jhangiani, was his biggest support during the difficult time, and they mutually decided not to tell their two sons about the accident.
Parvin said one of their sons got a sympathetic message from his friend that made him assume that his father had passed away. The actor revealed, “Preeti has been a solid support. She has managed to deal with the situation well. Initially, we didn’t tell our sons about the accident, but they got to know from their friends.”
He added, “My older son got a message from his friend saying, ‘Sorry to her about your dad’. And he thought I had passed away. Then, Preeti told them about the accident and my condition and calmed him down. The incident has helped me appreciate my life and family more.”
The 50-year-old talked about his current health condition. He said he feels a little dizzy and is taking vertigo pills to manage that. The actor shared that he is not instructed to walk much, and he uses a cane whenever he gets up to walk. “I have been called for a follow-up after a few days,” he said.
Parvin also emphasised the need for educating people about driving with a high beam on. He said he would always tell Preeti that one should be careful while driving in high beam situations. “That day, I was returning from work and wasn’t speeding, yet the accident happened,” he concluded.
The actor will return to his professional duties after some time. He is the co-founder of the professional Pro-Panja League in India and is hopeful about conducting an international arm-wrestling event in Mumbai next month.
