Slots for booster shots can now be booked through Eka Care – ET HealthWorld

Bengaluru: EkaCare, a connected healthcare platform on Wednesday announced the extension of COVID vaccination services offered through its platform to enable booking of precaution dose for those in the eligible category. The process to book the vaccination slot has been made easier and can be completed in three guided steps through the platform.

Announcing the initiation of slot-booking, Vikalp Sahni, CEO and Founder Eka Care said, “Alongside the government portal, the online appointment of those eligible for a booster dose can be booked on Eka Care. There is no need for users to register again for booking their precautionary does. The option is already on our website and will be available in our app soon.”

Over eight million users have till now availed CoWIN services on the platform, with the download of approximately 15 million certificates through its app, website and WhatsApp interface. The platform is available in 12 languages and has reached over 576 districts in India to simplify the process of getting vaccinated, in turn increasing its accessibility.

Precaution dose, or third dose of the COVID vaccine for those in the vulnerable categories was initiated from January 10 amidst a rapid rise in cases. The third dose is being administered to healthcare workers and those aged 60 and above with co-morbidities which places them at high risk of developing a severe disease. According to the health ministry data, India has till now administered over nine lakh precaution doses to people in the eligible category.
