She reiterated that no post-poll violence happened in Bengal and whatever cases happened in Bengal were pre-poll violence, when the state was under the Election Commission.
“No post-poll violence happened in Bengal and whatever sporadic incidents happened in the state was pre-poll violence, when the state was under Election Commission. The matter is subjudice,” Mamata said. However, after commenting on the issue, she claimed that she will not speak on the issue as the matter is sub-judice.
She alleged the NHRC committee member, who visited various parts of Bengal, was a BJP member and associated with the All Indian BJP Student’s wing. “You can check his social media accounts-Facebook and Twitter to check if I am correct. Whatever was written by the BJP party office, was written by him, and submitted as a report to the Court. It is like a fake video,” Mamata claimed.
“We were under EC till May 3. I was given responsibility as a caretaker for one day on May 5 but I had no power in my hand on that day. After taking oath on May 5, I changed the entire administrative set-up of District Magistrates and Police Superintendents,” Mamata said.
Blaming the BJP for killing Trinamool workers every day, the Trinamool Supremo said that “her party workers were killed in all the areas where BJP won.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister reintroduced her Duare Sarkar, which will help people to get benefit of several state government schemes, including Duare Ration (Ration at Doorstep), Sikshasree, widow pension, Student’s credit card scheme, digital ration card scheme and opening of bank accounts.
Banerjee had earlier introduced the ‘Duare Sarkar’ concept from December 2020 to February 2021, where officials heard grievances and released payment dues under various schemes such as Kanyashri, Bangla Abas Yojana, widow pension. The programme helped the government directly reach people up to village levels just ahead of the assembly polls, and is believed to have helped the ruling Trinamool Congress in the elections.
Based on the success of that, the state government plans to also introduce ‘Duare Ration’, or ration at doorstep, and now ‘Duare Relief’, to reach out to the grassroots and avoid corruption in the affected areas. Mamata’s government will offer the newly introduced Student’s Credit Card scheme and Lakshmir Bhandar, a financial aid for all women, through Duare Sarkar.
“Under the scheme Lakshmir Bhandar, women will start receiving the money from September 1,” Mamata announced today after the cabinet meeting.
