Stocks in the news: ITC, Power Grid, PVR, Tata Power, BHEL and IT stocks

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 58.5 points, or 0.34 per cent lower at 17,046.5, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Thursday. Here are a dozen stocks which may buzz the most in today’s trade:

, , , Alstone Textiles (India), , and more are among the companies that will announce their results for September 2022 quarter today.


HCL Technologies:
The IT major posted a 7 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit for September quarter at Rs 3,489 crore, topping street expectations, and raised the full year revenue guidance citing strong demand and deal pipeline despite macro concerns.

ITC: ITC Infotech incorporates subsidiary in Brazil. The company said its subsidiary ITC Infotech India has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil under the name of ITC Infotech Do Brasil LTDA. ITC Infotech has received registration certificate for incorporation of the subsidiary.

Wipro: The IT services major reported a 9.3 per cent drop in its September quarter net profit, weighed down by rising staff expenses and lower non-US earnings. Profit attributable to equity shareholders of the company at Rs 2,659 crore in July-September was 9.27 per cent lower than Rs 2,930 crore in the year-ago period.

LIC has sold over 2 per cent of its holding in the state run utility firm in the past five months for Rs 3,079.43 crore, the insurer said. There is a decrease of 2.003 per cent in holding during the period from May 18, 2022 to October 11, 2022.

Tata Power: The Tata Groups utility arm said it will set up a 7 MW solar project for Tata Motors in Pantnagar. The project once completed will generate 215 million units of electricity, mitigating over 1.7 lakh tonnes of CO2.

BHEL: State-owned engineering playe said it has entered into two separate agreements with Coal India and to set up coal gasification based plants. Under the Memorandum of Understanding with Coal India, BHEL said it will jointly set up a coal to ammonium nitrate project based on gasification of high ash domestic coal.


PVR, Inox Leisure:
The multiplex operator said it has received the nod from its shareholders for the scheme of merger with rival Inox Leisure. The leading cinema exhibitor convened a meeting of its shareholders on Tuesday following the directions of the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

Adani Wilmar: The edible oil major said the company’s overall revenue in the July-September quarter will annually grow by low single-digit amid a fall in rates of edible oils. Adani Wilmar markets its edible oils and other food items under the Fortune brand. The company shared a preliminary update on the standalone performance during the Q2FY23.

: The renewable energy firm said its consolidated net loss widened to Rs 298.71 crore during the July-September quarter. The company’s consolidated net loss stood at Rs 284.35 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The company has also bagged an order worth Rs 2,212 crore from NTPC REL.

Aether Industries: The speciality chemicals manufacturer announced the opening of its Rs 33-crore research and development centre in Surat, Gujarat. The centre will house seven synthetic labs with 55 German-made fume hoods that will allow the company to conduct 110 reactions daily.

: A subsidiary of compressor & pumps maker Elgi North America said the company’s air compressor EG 200V-125 has been selected by US-based North Pacific Industrial Coatings to support its blasting and painting operations. The new compressor would be a reliable source of compressed air.

The global IT services and technology solutions company said it has signed an agreement with eir evo, Ireland’s leading telecommunications and ICT solutions provider, to support the standardisation of their CRM platform migrating them from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics.

: The pharma company said the board of directors has approved a rights issue of 7,26,91,239 shares for Rs 399.80 crore. The issue price is Rs 55 per equity share. The rights entitlement ratio is 1:2, one rights equity share for every two shares held by the eligible equity shareholders of the company.


Mishtann Food:
The packaged food products maker, which announced to set up a 1,000 Kilolitres Per Day (KLPD) grain-based ethanol manufacturing facility in Gujarat, is looking to expediate its plans. The proposed plant is expected to be operational form the second quarter of 2024.

CESC: The utility services provider said the board of directors will consider a proposal for issue of secured unlisted non-convertible debentures up to Rs 300 crore on October 15.

: The leading specialty chemicals company has received recognition of in-House R&D Unit from Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, which brings a number of benefits for the company in terms of international partnerships.

: The debt-ridden and cash strapped firm said it has defaulted on payment of interest on non-convertible debentures totaling Rs 9.16 crore. The due date for payment was October 11, 2022.
