High Income in Tech Roles
The couple, both tech professionals, revealed their annual earnings—CAD$100,000 each, amounting to a combined family income of CAD$200,000 (roughly ₹1.2 crore). The husband works as a programmer, while the wife is employed in a support role.
Upskilling Recommendations
When asked how others could earn similar amounts, the husband suggested pursuing technical certifications. “You can go for a technical certification, like Hadoop certification or Cloud Certification,” he said. For those interested in management roles, he recommended the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications, adding that PMP can significantly boost career prospects.
The wife echoed his sentiment, agreeing that PMP certification is valuable. However, Monga questioned whether PMP retains its value in today’s job market, considering its widespread availability, and asked if certifications like Cloud might be more lucrative.
Relevance of Certifications in Different Domains
The husband emphasized that the relevance of certifications depends on the domain. “For example, there are domains where if you have a cloud certification, you will get the job easily,” he explained. He added that cybersecurity certifications also hold significant value, highlighting the importance of domain-specific skills in the IT sector.
He disagreed with Monga’s suggestion that PMP is losing value, stating, “There has to be someone to manage the team, right,” underscoring the continuing need for project management skills in the tech industry. The couple’s insights highlight the importance of continuous upskilling and adapting to domain-specific demands in the tech industry to achieve high earning potential.
