GUWAHATI:: Assam Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna warned that if people in Guwahati do not change carefree nature and continue violating COVID-19 protocol, government may clampdown another lockdown.
Krishna while talking to media persons said, “We have seen large number of people move out in Guwahati without mask. Our cases might be lower in comparison to other states however there has been death.”
He said, “Earlier it was thought COVID deaths are associated with elderly people however recently we have seen seven to ten deaths. People between 40 to 55 years of age are in this bracket.”
Presently, there is lockdown in Barak valley. The chief secretary said, “If people to not wear mask we will be compelled to ask police to slap Rs 1000 fine for not wearing mask.”
