Month-on-month, EPFO registered a growth of 25.6% in November or 0.28 lakh more subscribers added compared to 1.11 million net new subscribers added in October 2021.

Of the total 1.39 million net subscribers added during the month, 0.82 million new members have come under the social security cover of EPFO for the first time and 0.56 million net subscribers exited but rejoined EPFO by changing jobs within the establishments covered under the purview of EPF & MP Act, 1952.

Highest number of net enrolments were registered in the 22-25 years age group with 0.36 million net new additions during November while the 18-21 years age group saw an addition of 0.28 million net enrolments.

Net share of female subscribers during the month stood at 0.29 million, which is almost 59,005 more than that of subscribers added during October, 2021, a month-on-month increase of 24.9%.

Highest number of formal jobs were created in establishments across Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka with 0.84 million subscribers added during the month in these states, which is around 60.60% of total net payroll addition across all age groups.

Industry-wise payroll data indicates that ‘expert services’ category (consisting of manpower agencies, private security agencies and small contractors etc.) constitutes 41.48% of total subscriber addition during the month.

“In addition, the growing trend in net payroll additions has been noted in industries like building and construction industry, textiles, schools, restaurants, cement etc,” the labour ministry said.

The payroll data is provisional since the data generation is a continuous exercise, as updating of employee records is a continuous process, it added.
